Our belief is that children need effective communication skills as a foundation for the successful participation in activities at home, school, and in the community. We strive to build these critical skills so that children are prepared to fully participate in the world in which they live.

Our goal is to give children with potential or existing challenges the best opportunities to maximize their success. With enough successful opportunities to practice these evolving skills, we believe children and adults can make fundamental changes in their self-image, confidence, and ability to relate to others.

Adults

Are you, your friend, or your adult child experiencing difficulty with social interactions?

At Socially Speaking, adults can enhance their communication skills with their family, friends, and/or co-workers. With improved self-awareness and perspective taking, many relationships can become more meaningful and mutually fulfilling. The I-LAUGH model, by Michelle Garcia Winner, and other appropriate strategies will be utilized to develop the goals and steps to build on one’s existing skills.

Sessions with adults are often on an individual basis, with the possibility of inviting other key members (i.e. family member, friend, etc.) at a later date to further the development. Also, individual sessions may lead into group sessions, as appropriate.
